Why would I want a calling
card if I have a cell phone?
There are basically 3 underlying benefits to having a calling card
and they are as follows:
1) It never hurts to have a backup
2) Having a GSM cell phone is a convenient way to get calls while
your overseas and it can be a cheap way to stay in touch but with
few exceptions our calling card, with toll free access numbers
around the world, is cheaper from a landline (ex. hotel phone) for
those international calls back to the US
3) In some countries like Germany it pays to use your calling card
from your cell phone. As an example to call from German to the US
from your international cell phone is a whopping $1.72 minute but if
you use your calling card the rate can drop to under 30
cents/minute. Simply dial a local access number in Germany for 7
cents/minute on the weekend and then add 22 cents/minute for the
calling card.
Who is GlobalPhone?
GlobalPhone is the order fulfillment center for our calling card.
GlobalPhone will generate your account number and provide customer
service for your calling card. Should you have any questions
regarding your calling card simply call: 1-703-533-2122 or email:
customersupport@gphone.com.
I didn't order a calling
card so why did I get an email from GlobalPhone?
A calling card will be automatically added to your shopping cart
unless you de-select this option, during the checkout procedure.
Within a week you will receive a plastic calling card in the mail
and a booklet of international access number, however, GlobalPhone
will activate and email your account with local access numbers
usually within 24 hours
Do I pay anything if I
don't use the card?
No, the calling card is completely usage based. If there is no usage
then there will be NO charge. However, we do run a credit
authorization check on the card to see if it is valid. The
authorization amount is usually for $100, which will block the funds
in your account for up to three days before the funds are then
released. It is NOT a charge. Again, you are only charged at the end
of the month for actual calls you make.
How am I billed for the
calling card?
Your credit card will be billed once a month for any usage that you
have accrued and a statement will be mailed to your home/office.
Are there any "hidden
charges" and how much do I pay for calls?
There is a 4% tax on your total bill and that is it. Otherwise to
calculate the cost of a call simply check our online usage rate
calculator at:
